Seafarms Ambrose held on Sunday 21st October 2018
This is an annual 9 hole 4 person ambrose sponsored by Seafarms, Cardwell Golf Club’s major Sponsor. It is attracting increasing numbers of players each year. There are prizes for nearest the pins on 6 holes and longest drives for both men and women in high and low handicap categories giving everyone a chance to compete.
15 teams of four, totalling 60 players, enjoyed a great day with the Cardwell Country Club cooking a BBQ lunch and providing the drinks service to keep everyone refreshed on a hot day.
Seafarms provided $3000 worth of prizes on the day which included 26 kg of fresh Crystal Bay Prawns. The raffle prizes included a one night stay at Castaways Resort & Spa Mission Beach with $100.00 Meal Voucher at Bibesia Restaurant & Spa. Everyone that attended also received a ticket for lucky door prizes that entailed 14 random draws which was a lot of fun.

2nd – Brownies Hopes - Kevin Brown, Kathleen Brown, Jackie Olditch, Graham Edwards winning a $50.00 Gift voucher for Woolworths / Pakall cooler bag / umbrella
3rd – Hinchinbrook Hillbillies – David Lee, Zac Hurcum, Oscar Phelps, Craig Phelps winning a Ridley Gift Pack / Umbrella. This team had the youngest player on the day, five year old Oscar Phelps was the star of his team making a big contribution to the team’s placing.
4th – Prawn Stars – Trent Butler, Zenobia Knox, Bill Gard, Lizzie Mori were the best of the Seafarms’ teams. They donated their 3kg prawns each back to the club. They received some golf balls instead to encourage their enthusiasm to keep on playing golf.
5th - Good, Bad and Uglies - Phil Pentecost, Geoff Reading, Bert Pajonk and Jenny Quigley (their secret weapon!)
6th – Oh Shit! – Wayne Sheahan, Phil Wyatt, Kyle Bowman and his father –in-law Mark.
NAGA – Soft and Broken – Les Fry, Andrew Crole, Bill Wheelan and Jamie Lovenbury.
