As of 5:00am on Friday December 17th Queensland Health are introducing Public Health and Social Measures linked to vaccination status Direction (PHD).
What does this mean for our Golf Club?
Also below is an excerpt of the communication received from Golf Australia as it relates to Golf Clubs in Queensland.
We will keep a close watch if any changes to the above arise in the future and keep all members informed.

Dear Queensland Golf Clubs and Facilities,
Queensland Health has published the Public Health and Social Measures linked to vaccination status Direction (PHD). The PHD are law and come into effect 5:00am on 17 December 2021.

Golf Australia (GA) has reviewed the Public Health Direction and can confirm the following information.
Clubs and facilities are reminded that PHD often do not go into enough detail to cover every situation you may experience at the facility. It follows that, as an industry, we must do our best to interpret the PHD in a way that gives effect to the intention of the direction.
Golf Operations
Golf Australia continues to encourage both golf participants and workers to get vaccinated as soon as they are able as the above information may change at any time.

There are different requirements for vaccinated and unvaccinated patrons:

What does this mean for our Golf Club?
- The Cardwell Golf Club operates out of the facility owned by the Country Club which is classified as a hospitality venue and therefore we are obliged to conform with the rules surrounding hospitality venues when we are on the premises
- On arriving at the Golf Club everyone must check in using the Cardwell QR Code in the Bunker or sign the hard copy list available in the Bunker
- If entering the Country Club you must sign into the Country Club using the Country Club QR code or sign the Country Club hard copy list
- Can enter the Country Club to purchase take away drinks to be consumed on the Golf Course
- Use the toilet facilities
- Play golf in groups with vaccinated players and share golf carts with vaccinated players
- Enter the Bunker after a game to hand in score cards
- Cannot remain in the Country Club or Bunker and surrounds after a game. This is deemed a hospitality area where people are gathered socialising and consuming beverages purchased from the Country Club

- Unvaccinated people can play golf, including associated activities i.e. golf course practice facilities, mini golf etc
- Unvaccinated people can play golf in the same group as fully vaccinated people
- Unvaccinated people can share a golf cart with a vaccinated golfer
- Unvaccinated people can use the ‘drinks cart’ service
- Unvaccinated people can enter and use Proshop services·
- Unvaccinated people can purchase take away food and drink to consume on the golf course and practice facilities
- They cannot eat and drink in the proshop, clubhouse and surrounds
- A golf club or facility may also choose to self-impose rules to deny an unvaccinated person admission to play golf, however the club should seek their own legal advice before doing so

- Coaches delivering school-based programs should check with the school regarding a school’s legal requirements
- A golf club or facility may also choose to self-impose rules to deny an unvaccinated person coaching, however the business should seek their own legal advice before doing so.
Clubhouse
There are different requirements for vaccinated and unvaccinated patrons:
- Vaccinated patrons can use all hospitality services of a golf club/facility
- Unvaccinated patrons may enter the clubhouse to collect take away food and beverage for consumption whilst playing golf, or for purposes associatd with playiung golf, i.e. paying fees
- Unvaccinated patrons may enter the clubhouse to use the toilets and or locker rooms
