2020 DRAINAGE PROJECT "Proudly supported by Cassowary Coast Regional Council"

Picture
This year the Cardwell Golf Club applied for Community Funding from the Cassowary Coast Regional Council to upgrade the drain between fairways 4 and 6. We were successful so our staff, a band of volunteers and Contractors have been busy getting the work done and it was finished in time for the current wet weather.
This drain, as you will see in the pictures, was choked up and now the water is flowing away freely from the front of number one green and the two wet areas on numbers two and four fairways. This means that play should have much less interruption (hopefully no interruption) because of boggy conditions.
A HUGE thank you to all involved in this project from writing the applications, planning, getting quotes, organising the resources needed, volunteering time and donating goods! A job well done.

The first three pictures show a choked drain. The next few show all the work in progress and the last two are from sat 2nd January after the downpour showing the drain doing its job!!
