On Sunday 30th may 2021 eleven teams of four players took to the Cardwell Golf Course for the 9 hole 4 person Community Sponsored Ambrose. Judging by the laughter and happy voices everyone had a great time. A BBQ lunch cooked by Ken English who was ably helped by Glenda Stahel was enjoyed by all!! Thank you to the Country Club for opening and keeping everyone in drinks!! Thank you to all who helped to make it a great day. In first place was ‘No Idea’ (26.06), Dave Hoare, John Ferguson, Karl McGree and Alan Mawer, in second place the ‘A Team’ from the Marine Hotel (27.56), Alan and Margaret Power, Tony McCoy and Bruce McDonald, third were F.I.S.H. (27.94) - if you’re a golfer you know what this stands for!! - Keith and Marina Hoare with Chris and Christine Taylor and fourth the ‘99ers’ (29.44), Reg Wright, Peter Butler, Shane Dorries and Terry Langford.
The Men’s longest drive for players with a handicap 26 or less was Alan Mawer and for those with a handicap of 27 or over Fraser Scott. The Ladies’ longest drive for handicaps 29 or less Denise Walton and for handicaps 30 and over Tracy Moore.
